Chrysler stands for quality, for design, for craftsmanship, for performance, for efficiency, for innovation and technology – all at a very attainable price.

2015 is the Chrysler brand’s 90th year and to celebrate, the brand is producing limited-edition 90th Anniversary models that offer more standard equipment and value for customers.

“Ninety years ago, Walter P. Chrysler laid the foundation for a philosophy that still works today – craftsmanship, beautiful design, innovation and technology, all at an affordable price,” said Al Gardner – President and CEO Chrysler Brand, FCA US LLC. “Those traits still resonate today in both the products – the Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, 300 full-size sedan and Town & Country minivan – and with consumers.”

New 2015 Chrysler 300 and all-new 2015 Jeep® Renegade named to ‘Ward’s 10 Best Interiors List for 2015’

After spending two months evaluating and scoring 42 vehicles based on fit-and-finish, comfort, material selection, ergonomics, information/displays, value, safety and design aesthetics, WardsAuto editors named the new 2015 Chrysler 300 and the all-new 2015 Jeep®Renegade to its “Ward’s 10 Best Interiors List for 2015.”“The FCA US interior design team pays meticulous attention to detail, whether it’s selecting the perfect materials and colour combinations to ensuring the communication experience is intuitive and simple to use,” said Klaus Busse, Vice President of Interior Design, FCA – North America.  “To have the Chrysler 300 and Jeep Renegade named to Ward’s 10 Best List signifies that we have achieved our mission to offer products that go above and beyond to meet the needs of our customers.”2015 Chrysler 300 Interior Design

Inside the new Brampton (Ont.) built-2015 Chrysler 300 passengers will be immersed in a sophisticated blend of hand-sculpted fluid shapes, high-quality and innovative material choices inspired by American cities, precision craftsmanship, state-of-the-art technology and thoughtful, clever features.

“In a world overpopulated with giant SUVs, the Chrysler 300C Platinum reminds us how glorious big sedans can be. The ’15 model takes the superb interior of the previous version up another notch with even more features, comfort and sumptuous materials. The quilted leather trim and patterned upholstery are similar to what we see on German luxury sedans costing three times as much. The huge touchscreen and Uconnect infotainment system is about the best at any price. Yet it also has wonderfully practical details, such as stout grab handles and a truly sturdy sunglasses holder. ‘I could live in this car,’ says one judge. Yes indeed. And live well,” said Drew Winter, Editor-in-Chief, WardsAuto World magazine.

When designing the new 2015 Chrysler 300, the team incorporated unique design elements and utilized authentic materials in an honest way to create an interior identity that is comfortable yet beautiful. The new 2015 Chrysler 300 interior was designed using three key principles:

  • Make an emotional design impact through use of high-quality materials
  • Include state-of-the-art technology
  • Use interior space wisely

Earning the right to be named a Ward’s 10 Best Interior is the new 2015 Chrysler 300C Platinum model — the new pinnacle of the Chrysler brand lineup — offering an all-new and exclusive two-tone Indigo/Linen interior inspired by La Jolla, California’s ocean views lined by sandy expanses and unexpected coves. This sedan’s interior environment features segment-exclusive use of quilted and perforated Nappa leather on front and rear seats. Highlighting this sedan’s world-class level of craftsmanship and comfort is a segment-exclusive use of quilted Nappa leather wrapping the seats and door panels. Once limited to exotic sedans priced tens of thousands more, ultra high-end Foligno leather from Italian leather expert, Poltrona Frau, wraps the instrument panel and sides of the centre console and is finished with French accent stitching. A two-tone Indigo/Linen leather-wrapped steering wheel is hand-stitched together and includes die-cast paddle shifters and a unique chrome accent ring to highlight the segment-exclusive 360-degree heated rim. Completing the interior environment is specially selected and hand-sanded natural pore wood stained in a matte-Mocha finish for greater beauty.

2015 Jeep Renegade Interior Design

The all-new Jeep Renegade interior features a rugged and energetic appearance that builds upon the Jeep brand’s legendary heritage. Its precisely crafted details, innovative and high-quality colour and material appointments, state-of-the-art technology, and clever storage features draw inspiration from contemporary extreme sports gear and lifestyles.

“The Jeep Renegade lives up to its name by bringing a rebellious new style to the overcrowded small SUV segment,” said Winter. The interior checks off all our boxes in terms of being roomy, comfortable and having excellent ergonomics – even the voice-activation system works flawlessly. But, the attention given to interior details and design is truly spectacular for a vehicle in this class. Whimsical design elements, bold, contrasting colours and stunning metallic bronze trim convey a sense of fun and adventure that sets it apart. The Renegade isn’t a ’cute ute,’ it’s the Cherokee’s badass little brother.”

When designers of the 2015 Jeep Renegade began the interior design process, they started with a fresh canvas and simple design brief: create a small SUV that they themselves would aspire to own. This objective is strikingly apparent in the Renegade’s dynamic lines, hand-sculpted forms, and emotional character. The 2015 Jeep Renegade’s iconic design sets it apart in the global marketplace.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade interior was designed using four key principles:

  • Make an emotional design impact
  • Use high-quality materials with an inspired colour and materials story
  • Integrate the latest state-of-the-art technologies
  • Develop clever storage and intelligent use of space

The interior of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade has a distinctive form language which Jeep designers have titled “Tek-Tonic.” The Tek-Tonic design theme is defined by the intersections of soft and tactile forms with rugged and functional details. Major surfaces such as the sculpted soft-touch instrument panel are intersected with bold functional elements like the passenger grab handle. Indispensable for off-road adventures, the robust handle is borrowed from its big brother, the legendary Jeep Wrangler. It cleverly integrates into the passenger air vent to create a unique sculpted element. The unique centre vent “air-pod” and anodized accents draw inspiration from performance goggles and boots used in extreme sports.  Unique protective clamps that surround the Uconnect touchscreens, shifter bezel, and front-door speaker bezels exude strength and precision. The clamp surrounding the touchscreens is embossed with “Since 1941,” paying homage to the Jeep brand’s legendary history.

The Jeep Wrangler – Best Resale Value in Canada

Via: The Globe and Mail

The Jeep Wrangler claimed top honours for best resale value in Canada by percentage, as announced Wednesday by Canadian Black Book (CBB), the country’s largest publisher of wholesale used-vehicle prices.

Holding close to 70 per cent of MSRP after four years, the Wrangler placed first in CBB’s 10th annual Best Retained Value Awards and also won the compact SUV category for the fifth straight year. CBB compared values of 2011 models in 20 classes.

Resale value matters because “depreciation is still the biggest cost of ownership,” Bailey says. “We all watch gas prices, but … people should stop and look at the future value. It may be a great deal month to month, but in the ownership period it may be more expensive.”

He adds, “Some people buy a car and drive it until there is nothing left, but most people want to eventually sell their car, so it is important to consider,” Bailey says.

“Sometimes spending a little more today will net you more on the back end,” Bailey says.

Canadian Black Book in addition to publishing new and used vehicle prices, provides an online tool that assesses the future value of any vehicle.

Testing The AWD of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep

Via: Crave Online

Spring is creeping across the country, while snow and ice are losing their grip on America. Fortunately, there were still plenty of winter’s fingerprints in Canada not too long ago when Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brought automotive test drivers north to size up the automakers’ All-Wheel Drive and winter driving systems.

At a winter test track outside bitterly cold Montreal, the automaker family offered up nearly their entire vehicle line for evaluation for a collection of auto journalists sent to see how well the machines stood up to black ice, low grip and other winter driving scenarios both off-road and at speed. Front and center was the performance capabilities of the companies’ All-Wheel Driving systems.

The difference between AWD and four-wheel drive relies mainly on the amount of technology built into each system. Four-wheel drive improves on front wheel drive by taking the power to all four wheels, improving grip and providing a more stable ride over snow, ice, off-road terrain, etc.

All-Wheel Drive is a more modern and advanced system that uses some amount of artificial intelligence to control the amount drive going to the wheels individually. The most advanced AWL systems available use a computer in difficult driving conditions to sense which wheel has the best grip. Once the system reads which wheel(s) have the most stable contact patch, AWL sends torque that way — balancing the power between gripping and slipping wheels to keep the car moving forward. AWL keeps the process going, calculating in microseconds and continually adjusting power distribution

While any number of the Jeeps and Dodge trucks standing by were more than able to deal with winter driving conditions both on track and off-road, I opted to test the best AWD performance vehicles on the scene. The 2015 Dodge Charger Rallye trim level packs less raging power than the new Charger Hellcat, it still offers a roaring HEMI V8 and that same essential winter driving tool – AWD.

The Montreal test track allowed ample space to open the throttle a bit on the well-packed snow and ice, in between wide circle turns and straight line stops and starts. As I hit the gas on the straights and in the wider, rimshot turns, I could feel the AI within the big, loud Charger’s AWD system balancing and rebalancing the V8 power. I could let the end out when I wanted for a bit of drifting, but — with deft use of the throttle and a light touch on the steering wheel — the Charger Rallye never spun or lost its way on its test runs.

My favorite vehicle of the day — and the finest performer even on an icy track — was the latest edition of the Chrysler 300. I admit I’ve always liked the 300 and consider it the finest performing vehicle in the line (with the exception of aspiring, though affordable supercar, the aforementioned Hellcat). For whatever reason, this particular car speaks to me. It feels good under me. My driving skills relate well to it. It feels comfortable, speedy and well-balanced. I would own one.

But, the question on that blustery, snowy day was how well the sophisticated luxury sports sedan would stand up to 50 mph speeds on inches of snow crammed atop packed ice.

With the Chrysler AWD systems on full as part of the car’s all-weather driving package, the 300 was just as deft, entertaining and exiting to drive — flirting with 50 mph down the straightaways in full-on slick conditions.

This Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep event (and other like it) prove clearly that the AWD technology is so far along that residents of any winter states in the U.S. or Canada would be foolish to opt for makes and models that don’t offer it’s winter defying smarts.

Tis The Season To Give

At an announcement this morning at its Canadian Headquarters in downtown Windsor, Chrysler Canada gave the residents of Windsor-Essex County over one million reasons to smile as local Company employees and retirees have donated $1,062,355.72 to the United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County 2015 campaign. This donation marks the single largest pledge towards the United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County and the 27th straight year that Chrysler Canada employees have donated more than $1 million.

Keeping with the holiday theme that it is better to give than to receive; this year’s campaign pledge total was presented as a gift-wrapped cheque that was unwrapped by employees in front of a Canadian-made 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392.

“Giving generously to the United Way has been a long-standing tradition of our Chrysler Canada plant and office employees,” said Mike Brieda, Plant Manager, Windsor Assembly Plant, Chrysler Canada. “With this year’s employee donation exceeding one million dollars, the United Way is one step closer to securing their annual campaign objectives and maximizing their  outreach programs to better the lives of those in the community who are in need.”

“Chrysler Canada, Unifor Locals 444, 195, 1498 and ONA Local 8 always pull together to support their community through United Way,” said Lorraine Goddard, CEO, United Way.  “Over the years, they have contributed millions of dollars to the United Way campaign.  They’re an important part of our community, and we’re so fortunate and grateful for their financial contributions, sponsorship and volunteer support.”

“Unifor Local 444 and its members have always supported the United Way knowing that the outreach programs and support that comes from them is second to none throughout Windsor and Essex County,” said Dino Chiodo, President, Unifor Local 444.  “I’m very pleased of the effort and contributions from our members who gave, as they know they are ‘Community Partners Making A Community Difference.’”

Chrysler Canada employees have set a proud example of giving back to their community with donations of over $1 million for over a quarter of a century. The participation rate for the 2015 campaign was 51 per cent, with an average employee pledge of $324. There were 643 employees this year that gave at the “Friends Level,” which means employees contributed $500 or more. There were 147 donations at the “Leadership Level,” for those individuals who contributed $1,000 or more.

As of Dec. 5, the United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County campaign overall total now stands at $3,377,655. Local residents can also help join the cause and help give back to assist those most vulnerable in our community.  The public is encouraged to take part and donate generously for this year’s United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County 2015 campaign.
